Role
The Constitutional Committee (CC) votes on whether each governance action (except no-confidence motions and committee updates) is consistent with the Cardano Constitution. An action needs the CC's approval quorum (currently 2/3 of active members) as well as approval from the other relevant bodies.
What it does not do
- It does not propose or fund projects.
- It does not vote on merit, popularity or value for money.
How members change
Members serve fixed terms (the maximum term is a protocol parameter, currently 146 epochs) and are changed through Update Committee actions voted on by DReps and SPOs. A motion of no-confidence can remove the committee.
Current committee membership and status are shown live on the Governance Pulse.
AACC and the 2026 committee election
AACC stood as a candidate in the 2026 Constitutional Committee election and finished 5th with about 1.143 billion ada of voting support (48.99% of participating voting power), according to AACC's own records. This is part of AACC's history; AACC's purpose remains connecting communities.
