Aiken is a functional language designed for Cardano on-chain code. It compiles to Untyped Plutus Core, the code Cardano nodes execute, and includes a package manager, formatter, test runner and blueprint generation.
A typical project has validators in a validators/ folder and unit tests written in Aiken itself; the generated plutus.json blueprint is used by off-chain tools such as Mesh to build transactions.
