Preprod is the testnet intended to mirror mainnet closely; Preview is used to test upcoming features earlier. Test ada has no value and is available from the official faucet.
For fast local development you can run a local devnet, for example with Yaci DevKit, or use hosted infrastructure such as Demeter.run.
